Ghetto car-home setup?

I heard you could use a computer power supply to power things from a car like an amp to run speakers and such. Well I have an old power supply and some speakers and some free time. I want to use the power supply to power the headunit and use it's internal amp for the speakers. But when I look at the power supply all I see is 10000 wires and wouldn't know where to start..

Anyone have any experience on this shit?

Yup.. easy to convert to 12V PS. I use them to run my RC Battery Chargers. Dont know how they would do with an amp hooked to it (I imagine the load would be too heavy) but to run a radio.. No prob.

I ran 250 watts off a 40.00 PSU for 8 months with no trouble.

On the main motherboard plug there will be a green wire. You will have to ground that to any black (ground wire) for the PSU to turn on. Then connect all the yellow wires together with the same number of grounds and you can use it to power anything that runs on 12v DC. There are several tutorials on how to do this on youtube.
