GF getting first car this weekend - Pics (Ford Festiva)

a 89 ford festiva...1300$ 185k on the clock, carbureted 1.3 inline 4. I advised her not to get it as i thought it was a bad investment but shes stuck on it, well probably pick it up this weekend. Has a few problems, one with the "transmission linkage" i assume, for the shifter. You have to pull it back past the gear you wanna go into, then go back forward for it to go into gear. Another problem is when you turn left it makes a popping noise from the front left wheel, drive axle maybe? Whats the good and bad on these cars?

Yea, i personally dont like it, but it does have potential ill give it that. Just a bare bones automobile pretty much. No A/C, Power Steering, Or Power Brakes. She likes it because its tiny, id prefer her to get a car like mine that i have plenty of exp working on, that way it wouldnt be shit to swap engines or anything if something went wrong. I found a car exactly like my daily driver for 750$ but she doesnt want it.

Already have a sub stage (Powerbass 12"s on about 500w" and speakers for it (Infinity ref comps) but we gotta pick out an HU. Probably a pioneer 4000ub or something along those lines. I also told her if we get it she has to let me black out the wheels and do a lime green pinstripe on them.
