Getting new car soon...

Probably a Honda Civic. Around 1995-97. Im pretty much set on that. So to those who do own them or have owned, what should i be on the look out for when inspecting? I know the usual rust spots in the engine bay and underbody and leaky seals but anywhere else? Common problems?

Im coming from a '91 Celica with rust issues and engine noises, so im trying to avoid those headaches with this one.

Thanks.

You gonna race that bad boy?

fo sholy. i have plans of putting a muffler tip the size of my head, 75lbs of vinyls and NOSSSSS.

/sarcasm.

actually , no. i dont. this will be my daily driver. probably will stay all stock except for a system of course, and maybe rims if i can find some dirt cheap.

rear quarters. and the wheel wells there is a piece of rubber trip, take it off and check for rust. if you happen to buy the car dont put it back on. its what causes the rust.

i had a 95 and the trunk leaked pretty bad from it rusting in the rear and making holes all the way in the rear. and the rear quarters had some rust but alot of them get that. ran good and got good gas mileage though so i liked it

ive been seeing alot of 95's in my price range.

what submodel/trim did you have, and whyd you get rid of it?

also, ID info is on the...rear driver side of the block?

thanks for the tips.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

eh, no thanks. tree huggers = ftl.

thats what im trying to avoid with this new car.

civics are pretty good about that. and if it does break, its probably pretty cheap compared to other cars.

though id like a suv to haul shit around in , but i doubt id be doing so anytime soon. also parts and gas are a big factor.

celicas....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif i love mine even though is a piece of shit and 5th gen. but id love to drive a nice 6th gen. reliable and economic but the rarity of parts makes me think again..

i think ima go with a civic when i come across a great deal but id just like others opinions..

youve never heard that before?

camaros , firebirds , etc... any heavy car that could get very fast in a straight line but shitty turning capabilities. try turning at those speeds , the car is wrapped around the trunk of a tree/pole.

i guess its a florida thing? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
