I'm not afraid of this dude, just being very cautious. I'm not looking to get myself seriously hurt. I'd rather not hit the dude with a blunt object because there is a chance I could kill him. I thought the pepper spray idea would give me enough time to get him on the ground and pound him until he gives up.

In my experience, women like this are nothing but drama and trouble. She should be working very hard to keep you out of this mess, not the other way around. Doubly so since he is a bigger guy. She's a bitch, face it. It wont be long before she's asking some other guy to beat you up. Im not trying to be a jackass here, Im honestly trying to give you realistic advice.

I bet cops could charge that as attempted murder. If you use pepper spray, you would have defended yourself in a resonable manner, giving you time to get away. Beating him would bring charges.
