They could have logs. Whether you used your personal laptop or a company PC/laptop doesn't matter if whatever you were doing was done while you were connected to the corporate network, and while you were working. That is justifiable cause for dismissal. Plus, most states are work at will states, which means you can get canned if someone doesn't like the color of your shoes and there is nothing you can do about it. In the interim, keep your head down and stay off the Internet at work!
