I've been away from the Car Audio stuff for quite a few years, I'm thinking about doing a small set-up in my work truck. 1993 Ford F-150 (single cab). I've been looking at MB Quart stuff, coax, amp, and subs (shallow mount). but I'm not sure on their quality, I know they used to be awesome stuff, but have read where not so much any more.

I'm not looking for a high SPL set-up, more of an SQ set up, but not super high end, I'm on a budget.

Basically I'm looking for either a set of coax 6 1/2" or comps same size, 4 channel amp, and a 12" sub, preferrably shallow mount to conserve space.

Anyways, if you guy could offer some insight on the MB Quarts or offer up suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

Here is exactly what I'm looking at:

MB Quart DSC4125 -

RMS power @ 4 Ohms: 125W x 4

RMS power @ 2 Ohms: 250W x 4

RMS power @ 4 Ohms bridged: 500W x 2

MB Quart RSH 302:

RMS Power Range : 400 Watts

Peak Power Handling: 800 Watts

Impedance: Dual 2 Ohm

Diameter: 12 Inch

MB Quart RSI-216:

•RMS Power Handling: 70 watts

•Peak Power Handling: 140 watts

•Impedance: 4 ohms

•Speaker Size: 6-1/2"

•Design 2-way Component System

The amp and sub from what I understand get very good reviews.

And I run MB Quart separates so I think thats a good setup too.

I dont think you would be disappointed running that.

If he has been out of it for over 10 years, he is going to be EXTREMELY disappointed with MB Quart!
Sorry forgot the separates are now made in China/overseas. If you can find a set that specifically says made in Germany you are good. Otherwise many other good options out there. Pioneer, Phoenix Gold, IDQ etc.

I will still say that the amp and sub get good reviews.

It's been around 10 years, I think..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My old set-up was this in a 92 Camaro.

Alpine head unit (can't remember which model)

Diamond Hex 61/2 in front

Diamond Hex 51/4 in back

Diamond Mack Daddy 12" in the hatch (pair)

Memphis "Memphis Belle" power

Thought about going back with Diamond/Memphis, but thought I'd try something else this time....

Basically wanting to go for a decent SQ set-up, doesn't have to be retared loud, but still loud enough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Hell I'm not brand loyal, just looking for the best set-up , in a $700-ish range. suggestions? Already have an Eclipse deck, so no need for that, just the rest.

Explain, please?
Their amplifiers are OK, but their made in China components **** donkey balls. The Chinese components of today are nowhere near the same quality as the German made speakers of yesteryear!

Oddly, it was rumored that JL Audio purchased the MB Quart tooling when the name was sold. Sadly, JL Audio component sets have decent drivers with crappy crossovers, so they are in pretty much the same boat as the Chinese made MB Quart, just not with the drivers.

OTOH, the company formerly known as MB Quart is slowly making a comeback with new technology: http://www.german-maestro.de/home_en.htm. I'll believe it when I see it, or is that hear it?

What MB Quart is no longer made in Germany //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif
