Getting back into car audio!!

Well, the last time i had a system it was in that crazy box in the Camaro. I sold all that for a down payment for my Z28, which i have recently gotten rid of.

I currently drive a 93 Mazda MX-3 (piece of shit, but small) and am looking to spice the car up a little bit with a decent system. I don't need anything competition worthy but i want something that will be decently loud and able to cover some of those lower notes.

I have NO clue what is hot on the market now, the last couple subs i had were a 12" mag d2 and a 15" FI Q. I really enjoyed the FI for the money, so i think i will probably stick with them unless there are better options out there now.

So, right now i am leaning towards an FI SSD 12" with about 1000wrms. Looking to build a ported box (2.5cf at 33hz right now). I'm not really sure on the amp, there are many, many options out there. Basically, i want a decent little system without spending an arm an a leg. If anyone has a suggestion or any input on my situation, feel free to let me know! Thanks in advance.

Do you want a decent system as in loud system? Or are you more SQ oriented?

Both, but more focused on SQ. I love the low's. 'Nuff said, right?

Fi would be a good way to go then. I like my 15 Q (I got it back).

I had a 15Q off 1200wrms before in a ported box, and it definitely was impressive but nothing out of this world. I just really don't wanna get the SSD's if they are that much of a kick down from the Q.

I hear ya man... I got into Car Audio way back in I guess it was 1988-90, I'm thinking it might of been before a lot of these cats was driving...

Was really into it for years, but kinda got away from it for a bit. However, I never really lost the love or interest, just had my priorities in different order... But I'm kinda wanting to get back into it...
