Getting 2 ohm load...

Yo, wut up IF homie. It is nice to see a local on here!

Acually, I thought hard on this question I asked.

In my home audio speakers, on the wires running to the tweet/midrange speakers, there is a little box type thing that says 4 ohms. I dont know if you run the circuit through, its a 4 ohm load, or if you can run them in series and or paralell, if you can change loads. If i got sum of those that were 2 ohms, maybe it would be possible.

yes wiring series or paralell changes the load. Each sub could be wired to either 2 or 8 ohms. If you hook all them up parallel you get a 1 ohm load. If you series each sub then hook them together in parallel you get 4 ohms.

yea, but i mean if I wire a 2 ohm little box thing, if say I have a sub wired 2 ohms, add the little 2 ohm box in paralell, if I have a 1 ohm load, or if the little box thing will creat the entire load 2 ohm. It should take it to one ohm, then with the other sub, the exact same thing wired 1 ohm with the little box, and the 2 of them paralell, would be 2 ohm!

if you wired both subs like this and wired the ends to gether it might be 2 ohms,

im kinda shure, any one want to qoute me on that

It sounds like the box thingy you are talking about is the crossover. And no, changing that won't change the load, all it does is divide the frequencies between the speakers.

yea, i just figured that and came to post.

If those 1 ohms were wired in SERIES, it would be two ohms!

the little white boxes, are wired in series with a resistor. Its wut controls the highs/mids to go to that driver. But the box thing dont do nothin if circuit ran directly through it.
