Isn't SQ about flat response? Wouldn't two 15s be a little much for a flat response SQ system?

bigger sealed boxxes = reduced power handeling. less in box compression=less power needed to make the cone move over power it the sub bottoms out making a clack sound.

You could still get the Kx line, not all the features, but still a real solid amp!

I don't know about Kicker. I think I'm going to stay away from them. I don't really like the size or design, and I've heard a story from a reputable guy that had a Kicker for his frontstage that said that it sounded off.

I like what i've seen and heard of MMATS but the only dealer i can find online (woofersetc) is like $abillion

more power = more headroom = better sq.
It just flat out doesn't make sense to me when someone says, "Oh, if you're looking for sq, you don't need that much power".

Pshhhh. Load em' up!

You know what the #1 complain of sq judges are? Overbearing bass and low end. Two 15s is just too much if hes doing strict sq.

I know they're older, but if you can find Phoenix Gold Ti series in the right shape for the right price, they had some pretty good power and crossover adjustability in them that may fit the bill.....anybody remember?

i'll turn it down when i need to! it's cool. over the winter i'm saving for an RTA and before i comp i'll definitely tune the amps to only get as loud as they need to be.

I definitely went there, but found that most of the USAmps were either/both too much money or too little power. Thanks, though!
Too bad the 1200.1 from PG Xenon series is way too expensive or else I would love one of those...

I've heard of world class SQ installs utilizing 4 15's. It's better to attenuate than boost, having the extra cone area just allows it to play at a low level with a stupidly low amount of power and excursion, it maximizes SQ. Plus 15's are great for the organ track
