They can stick that sign up their azz. I don't mind it being a little off, but most of them are way off. How can you mark the same measurement twice and one is off by .75? .75 is a real big problem when building a box. It's because they hire unskilled losers that have no eye for detail. That's why the sign is up. My mom could do better than them.Lol. they have a sign that says no accurate cuts.
Yea, this is my first box. I freaked when I saw them. The port pieces were too long, the top and bottom boards were too long, and the cuts were not perpendicular to each other. I hade a cut that was like, probably, 83-85 degrees. I got home and I was floored.the guy at home depot was off on my cuts, and it was the first time making my own box. had to do sanding on alot of the box edges
this. except I work at lowes. even tho our saw is fairly accurate. we still tell all customers its not going to be perfect. its a rip saw.you must be dealing with a bunch of *******. i use to work at lowes...id just point at the sign that says "no precision cuts" and tell you to go fuck yourself.
Im about to try this.. Them cutting it would be 100% better better than me cutting it nowadays. I no longer have much faith in my carpentry skills. Took a year of it last year but quit it because i felt it was not worth my time getting certified. There aren't a lot of jobs in it anymore..i just throw the guy a Hamilton and tell him to take his time. $10 is easily worth 3 hours of my time trying to figure out how to make the thing fit together after its totally screwed up.
and plus, i live in an apartment without a good place to cut wood - so its not even a possibility for me at the moment to be able to do it. so i gotta make sure its done right the first time, and if the guy has some incentive, then its worth it to me.
i always have better luck at lowes than home depot - but its all about the actual guy who does the cutting, not the place that it gets done. just shoot the guy a tip - and you should have zero problems.
