The only thing I dont understand about setting my system up is gains...how do gains work, how do you det them. Can someone explain or give me link, ive got a tsunami 1800 watt akmp and two 15A's on the way, thanks

You match the input voltage on the amp from the output voltage on the HU.

turn your gains down all the way

turn up your volume to the highest level you would ever listen to it at

then turn up your gains until you hear distortion then back them off just a touch

or go find a scope much better way

ok, so my head unit has a 4v preout. So i set the input voltage on the amp to 4v???

Yeah, plus, I've noticed a lot of amps aren't very accurate with their voltage markings on their gains...

Yes indeed the gains on my 1000D dont comne close to matching the markings the lowest setting is still a good half turn from where the end supposed to be

thats why you have to play with the gains and do it yourself, thats the best way to have it sound the way you want it to
