Does this make sense?
Head Unit- Pioneer 880PRS - 5v outs
On my alpine MRP-F250 (4ch mode) (4v max), the instructions state (like all instructions) to start out with the gains set to min (CCW). They say min is 4v. The amp is labeled 3/4 of the way to max as .5v. So I'm assuming max is .1v
Now on my MTX TC3001 (sub), they also say to start out at min (CCW). However, the amp is labelled the opposite. Full CCW is labelled as .1v and Full CW is labelled as 5v.
Does this make sense?
I haven't hooked up my DMM since I can't find test tones anywhere so I'm just doing it by ear. I set my head unit to 3/4, play music, and I turned the gains up (CW) till it was very loud (and still clear). I could probably could louder but I'm not after maximum volume.
Is this sufficient?
