JL tech support is telling me volume & sub. pre-out both need to be at 3/4, but I'm not sure if I should trust them. 3/4 volume on my Alpine would be like 27 or 28/35, but i have my full-range set-up so 28 or 30 is the max I like the volume at anyways so does that mean I need to lower the volume to like 23 or 24/35 when I used my DMM?
I understand the reason for 3/4 vol. is so there will be low-moderate clipping at full volume, but full volume would be 35 and I never go there hahaha. and I'm pretty sure on Alpine HU's, the pre-out just drops 1dB out per click, so I'm not sure what to do with that either. I usually like the pre-out around 8 or 10 so i have some room to increase or decrease.
