Gain Matching

I'm looking for about 2k in power. I currently have a single JBL 1001ez and was considering just buying another from sonic and gain matching (if that's what is called) the two. Anyone have any input on getting 2k from two amps that aren't strapped?

Use a DMM to gain match but the filters have to be exact also. That's the hard part

So the crossover on the amp? What about wiring?
