gain formula help

I don't get how to calculate the voltage for setting the gain on my amp so if someone could help me out i'd love the help.

i have a hifonics 1206D powering two type r's at 1 ohm. they're getting 600 RMS watts each.

Yes, well for 600w anyway. For the claimed 1200w you would want 34.6v.
