G&S subwoofers

I just picked up two G&S redline subs. They're the ones with the red surround, no lightning bolt. I've been researching the company online but can't find much. People either say they're junk or they were the JL audio of their day. I only paid $50 for them so if they're not to my liking I'm sure I could sell them to some Craigslist noob for double. I'd like to get some opinions from you guys about the brand and this line. Thanks for your help.

I just pulled the subs out and the model number is GSBB-12D. I assumed they were single 4-Ohm but when I took them they had dual coils. It also didn't say if they were dual two or dual four so if someone could help me out on this one too. I'm guessing they're dual four but I need to be sure because I don't have an Ohm meter.

It's only true. I'm sure a majority of people on here also use Craigslist to sell their cheaper car audio stuff on there 'cause they know no one here will want it. The people are still getting a good deal and I'm making my money back plus some. What's wrong with that? If it turns out I got a good pair of subs I'm going to keep them if not I'll just sell 'em or trade 'em. I'm newish to car audio so I come here for help from the more experienced guys. There's gotta be someone here who's dealt with this sub line before so can you please help me out

I rand some of their midbass drivers for years *until the surrounds dry-rotted*. They were quite well made. Good stuff for their day, old tech now. Probably good sounding subs but will want a large box to function properly

You really should buy a multimeter. Hell you can get them just about anywhere these days for like ten bucks. And, they even have applications outside the car audio world (seriously guys, Im not kidding on this one).
