$hit man I was just adjusting my D5 1200.1 amp's gain and my OTHER D5 amp 600.4 decided to blow its fuses???

I dont know what the fvck just happened but it was working flawlessly for 3 days. i didnt even touch it???

I went to walmart and got new 30 amp fuses, disconnected the power wire and put the new fuses in. As soon as I connected the power wire it sparked like I was grounding the power wire, and blew all the fuses....

none of my fuses that were before the amp were blown, and I have the amp directly connected to a fused distribution block...

ANY IDEAS what this could be???

Try attaching each amp seperately, test one, then the other.

By cranking the gain on one, you must have caused a voltage drop, the other amp compensated by drawing more current. More current = more heat = killed fuse. At least that's the theory.

Hope nothing's blown, good luck.

this sounds stupid but explain how i would connect them seperately....

also I have them hooked up with a 10 farad capacitor and a yellow top in the trunk... the volt meter didnt drop below 13.0

my fuse has a 120 amp fuse... I did use a d-block but the only other component that was hooked up to it was an active xover.... and no I didnt disconnect the ground, there would be no need to because its the same overall reaction.

I am thinking about throwing my other amp in there, this way if the fuses blow again then I need to recheck the setup... but I am very confident with the setup

the 1200.1 has 3 40 amp fuses on it with a 150 amp fused power wire...

the 600.4 has 3 30 amp fuses on it with a 120 amp fused power wire...

both amps are hooked up to the same ground...

yet only the 600.4 is blowing, it blew while I was adjusting the 1200.1???
