Fuse's, is it possible to over fuse something?

Hey guys,

So right now i have my 1kw system fused with a 120a fuse. But if i add another 300w amp for my comps i will have to change the fuse to a larger one. But if i have the choice, should i just go to 200a fuse? Or is it too much fusing for the wire? Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Mike

the the 200amp under the hood within 12" from battery do u fused distro in the back for these
Yeah, what i am going to do is buy a 1/0 gauge kit from knu and run that to a distro in the back. Then 4 gauge to both amps. 300a fuse by the batt, then two 120a fuse's in the distro block. Then use the used 4 gauge wire from my original install for both subs. I figure i should have enough to run from the distro to both amps. Also i am going to buy a ground distro and run 1/0 gauge from the distro and 4 gauge to each amp. Does that sound good? I know a little excessive but i figure it leaves me room to upgrade in the future.

yeah that sound right do it right thr first time
Yup, it was my mistake to run 4 gauge first. I never thought i needed a front stage till i heard how over powering my subs are compared to stock, which is a good thing. But o well, first ever setup, learn from mistakes. But i can still use the 20' of 4 gauge to power both amps. Now i just have to wait for knu to get the 1/0 gauge kit in stock, and for my next paycheck, lol.

300a is a little to big....i would go from 200a to 250a.
does it really matter though? I mean will i hurt my system or anything if i go to the biggest fuse? I know i dont need it but heck if its free to go to the biggest fuse why not?

FUSE FOR THE SIZE AND LENGTH OF WIRE NOT THE EQUIPMENT HOOKED UP TO IT JACKASS! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
