I am thinking of getting a new amp...I want the rockford fosgate 5001bd power series amp that does almost 1000w x 1 @ 1 ohm to run my subs...the amp has a 120A fuse rating (3) 40A fuses and recommends a 120A inline fuse....I have 4 guage wiring and a 4 channel with 8 guage wiring for that...i use the 4 guage for the sub amp....On my distro block i have a 40A and 60A fuses in it..40A for 4 channel and 60A for sub amp...does that mean i have to take out the 60A fuse and put in a 120A fuse and put a 160A fuse at battery???....will this overload my 4 guage to battery with 160A of current..cause i know 4 guage can handle up to 140A of current...but thats only at full power...humm...how do i do this setup??

Place a 160A fuse by your battery and if you can find a 120A, put that where you 60A use to be. I'm assuming you're working with AGU fuses in your distro block? The biggest I've seen was 100A for AGU but that's a few months ago.

yeah i am working with AGU fuses..yeah i heard of 80A AGU fuses maybe 100A but nothing higher...what do i do? just make a seperate run of 4 gauge from sub amp to battery with out distro block and just take distro block out altogether??
