Fuse rating for bxi2006d?

Anyone know what type of fuse to use inline before my hifonics bxi2006d? I have it wired to 1 ohm.

It doesn't specify in the manual, and i just blew the hell out of the 40a fuse that came with my stinger wiring kit, and the amp doesn't have a fuse on it, as far as i could find.

I have an 80a after the battery, a 150a before the cap, and i have a 40a before my kenwood, and HAD a 40a before the hifonics. I'm gonna throw an 80a in there for now, and keep it super low, but if anyone knows the proper fuse, i'll get one tomorrow.

what guage wire are you running? hopefully 2ga at least.

i would run an 150a fuse by the hifonics amp, 150 by the battery, and the 40a at the kenwood speaker amp is fine. considering the hifonics bx1500d is rated at 120A, the 2006 should be somewhere 150A

Daaamn, apparently i'm not even getting close to the potential out of my gear yet.

I've got the gain set correctly, but all the levels on my hu set real conservative to break the sub in. I'll leave the 80a in until i get my stuff tuned at the shop on saturday. I used -3db tones to set my subsonic and my gains, but i'm by no means a professional, so it'll wait until then.

Just in case someone stumbles across this thread on a search, i just got off the phone with a maxxsonics tech. and he told me the amp is internally fused to 200a, and to use a 150a fuse for playing musak.

I definitely overdid my setup a little bit.......

a 120 amp alternator wouldnt hesitate to power a 2000wrms amp. theirs plently folks with blazers/explorers that run the factory 105A alt with the hifonics brutus bx2005 and run them fine with just the big-3 upgrade.
