So I've gotten all of the components for my system except for the subs, and my buddy has two kicker l5's with some "nitro" amp or something and I wanted to see what the hifonics brutus bxi2006d I bought could do. So we hook it up, set the gains etc, and the difference was huge...for about 30 seconds, til my amp shut off and I realized the fuse under his hood blew(keep in mind this was my first time so much as hooking up ANY piece of car audio equipment, i've simply been doing a bunch of research the past few months).
Anyways, his amp was only a 30a and blew in just about 30 seconds, judging from what i've heard about all these amps a fairly big amplifier would draw, is 30 amps a really small fuse? Im mainly asking because with everything hooked up in my suv im hoping to be drawing 1500 or so watts(dont know for sure because hifonics are a bit overrated apparently) and that seems like i would need a much larger fuse. Can anyone give me some input here?
my sig has all my equipment if that helps.
