fuse question

I have a small directed amp pushing my Re comps. A couple days ago my fuse blew on my amp. Weird because its never blown before and my amp settings was set up properly. Plus the volume was turned down pretty low because i was on the phone whle driving home. I hit a small bump in the road (nothing crucial at all, i go down this road like a million times a day and nothing seems to happen) but this time one of my speakers went out then approx. 5 seconds later the other speaker went out. i thought maybe a wire had came loose but then i discovered no power on my amp and checked the fuse... i bought a brand new fuse and popped it inside my amp...soon as i put it in..it popped again. So now im confused. Is there anything im just not realizing?

Oh and i did a search on the topic and i saw something similar to my situation and one of the guys told another member to make sure its fused the same at the amp and the battery... That may be my only problem because i have my main sub power wire ran from my battery to my distro block. and from the block i have an 8 guage wire going to my comp. amp....and when i get my bass back up and going imma have a 4 guage wire coming from the distro to the sub amp.

But any help is very much appreciated. Immma go out and check the insides of my amp to see if anything looks burned up. I highly doubt it but i guess its possible.

ok, as i expected my amp is not blown (thank God) So now u audio gods chime in with your wisdom and help me find out why my amp keep blowing fuses...ohhh might i add...when i stuck the first new fuse inside it did not blow immediately but my amp was not getting any power also once i popped the fuse in. Power, ground, and remote wire is all connected properly. It was working just fine for 2-3 months. after playing with the amp for a while trying to figure it out and removing the new fuse to check and see if it popped i realized it hadnt then i put it back in, thats when it popped. I dont know..im confused

could be metaillic debris inside the amp getting bumped to short something internally. Some stray strands of speaker or power wire that have worked themselves loose. Just a couple of guesses.

thanks for the advice man..when i took my amp apart i looked for things of that sort and that did not take care of the problem..man i really wish it did though...Anyways...anyone out there with anymore guesses?

short in the wire is possible..i'd have to uninstall everything and find it but i highly doubt that also..... and of course.. the car is off when im changing fuses.. i need to go pick up some more though before i continue testing

do you think its because my main power wire is 0 guage and thats the only wire i have ran thats going to the distro blocks and its fused at 300 or 350amps at the battery... so i need to just run a whole different wire for my comp. amp so it has its own fuse at the battery?

By the way... the comp. amp is the only amp i have installed at the moment. If that makes any difference... i dont see why it would be this problem because i've seen it done a number of times with different installs and it seemed to work fine then. Plus for some months it hasnt gave me any problems being ran like this, especially at high volumes..So it just confused the hell out of me why my fuse would blow at a low volume when i hit a small bump in the road

I have not read anything where you said, do you think it's because", because I know what i think.

Because everything was working fine before you hit that bump that one day, i would say it is a problem that was introduced when you hit the bump. That being said, it could be wire strands touching eachother, that bump cut a wire and created a short, or that bump created a power problem somewhere else.

UI don't think it's because of grounding locations, I don't think it's because of wire size, I think it is a problem thatthe bump introduced, and I think it has to do with a short since you say it pops fuses instantlty.
