Fuse on Amp Blows Help needed!!!

I personally installed my system. It worked fine until the other day when I disconnected my amp. I was trying to install a new amp, but once I connected the the power wire(last thing I did) I got a huge spark and blew my fuses on my amplifier(not the ones on the power wire). So then I tired to hook my old amp up(and blew those fuses as well). I figured that somehow my power wire was making contact with the chasis of the Vehicle. So I removed my power wire and ran it outside of the car for testing purposes, but It still sparks up when I connect it to the amp. I've checked the ground wire and it seems fine. I also replaced the fuses. I have not a clue what the problem is. Any Suggestions are welcome.

pull the fuses out of the power wire better yet disconect the power cable from the battery before you connect it to the amp.

You may have blown the amp(s)

You power wire shorting out prior to the amp won't affect your amp fuses at all. The short occurs prior to the amp and basically no current will flow to the amp to blow the fuses. If there was a short, the underhood fuse would blow.

Why were you making changes to the wiring of the system with the battery negative connected? The first thing you should ALWAYS do is disconnect the battery ground. Once that is done all power is removed from the car. There will be no arcing when you connect wires. You won't have to worry about a spark frying the circuitry in the amp. You won't have to worry about shorting a wire to ground and burning the car to the ground. Chances are that you toasted both amps with a power spike while you were hooking them up.

I never unhooked the negative of the battery, what i do is simply hook the hot wires up really fast, like im playing hot potato and I beat the spark to the wire.

Yes, you can move faster than the speed of sound...STFU already! You have admitted to blowing up 2 amps in a week. You obviously know less than nothing. Until you have something worthy of contributing (fat chance) just STFU.

it was a joke, how about you read up on what that is helo. And as for the amps, I never fried them, they still work I just found better ways of using them.

faster than the speed of sound, was that a joke, or did you just not know that electricity travels more towards the speed of light than the speed of sound.

Through a conductor close to the speed of light, through an insulator in the form of plasma, not even close, closer to the speed of sound.

You're still an idiot. When someone is asking for advice, you don't post a "joke." That's called being a dick and a worthless member of the forum. You have demonstrated time and again on this forum that you are either a troll, an idiot or both.
