i got a fused d-block thats going in the trunk, question is (may be newbie) i don't need a fuse holder back there do i? but i will need one under the hood by the battery correct? and when i do the big 3, i will need another fuse holder, but where? near the battery or alternator.

no you do not need one in the trunk, yes you will need one in the power wire from your battery to your amp, and no you do not need one from your battery to your alternator, it is just an option. and if your do put one in when you do your big 3, you just need to put it on the wire that goes from your battery postive to your alternator postive, it doesnt matter where, just whereever you can fit it.

Uh...whether you need a fused distro block depends on wire sizes. You NEED a fuse whenever your wire size goes down. So, if your distro block has 0 gauge inputs, and 4 gauge outputs, you need a fuse in it. This is because if the 4 gauge wire after the distro shorts, the fuse at the battery on the 0 guage will NOT blow before the 4 gauge wire in the trunk starts on fire. Get it?

However, if you have the same gauge going in and out of the distro, no fuse is needed.
