fuse from second battery to distro? or...

should i use two seperate fuses. running 1/0 to the back to a batcap 2000. then going to make two runs of 4 gauge wire. question is, would it be best to wire into a fuse then run it to a distro? or use 2, 4 gauge wires directly from the bat and fuse both. thanks fellas.

why not have the batcap be the distro and then fuse each amp
thats basically what I was asking. wiring 2, 4 gauge wires from the battery and fusing BOTH wires. but it would probably be easier (and lil cheaper) to make a 1/0 run to a distro (from batterY) fused there and then 2, 4 gauge from there. running oldschool 4 channel kenwood and fosgate 1500. about 1700 rms total.

EDIT: for clarification, iw as told it is always best to fuse after the second battery to amps... so thats what I am assuming while asking this question

i always fuse between the batteries.
right. fuse the power wire up front and at the back. thats two in line fuses for the power wire to the second battery. i already got that down. im just wondering about fusing from battery to amps with in lines. thats my question

batcap -->4ga wire --> fuse --> 4ga wire --> amp|

\/

4ga wire --> fuse --> 4ga wire --> amp

why the distro?
that way I would only need 1 in line fuse instead of 2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but your probably right

then you have the exact same situation with the wires from the distro. use the battery as the distro, and fuse each one for each amp

you save money/ 1/0 wire this way

well i already have 4 gauge wire laying around and i was going to buy a 1/0 amp kit and most kits come with a distro. so it would just save me from having to buy one extra in line fuse

thats what i would do/did

do you already have the wire from the front? and getting the kit to go from the back battery to the amps?

if so you need another fuse for that front/rear power wire

nah man not yet. about to order it soon. i know ill need 4 in line fuse holders now TOTAL. one up front power wire, one on the back end of the wire to the pos terminal of second, and then 2 4 gauge in line's for the amps. just trying to get a list of everything i need //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
