fuse fault help w/ Memphis MC500D

I noticed my sub wasn't working the other day so I went back to my trunk to see I had a fuse fault light lit on my amp. I took the amp completely out of the car and replaced the fuses (which did look blown), put the amp back in and I still have the fuse fault light. I lost my manual so I'm not sure what else would be turning the fuse fault light on so I don't know what to check.

Thanks in advance if anyone can lead me in some sort of direction.

Check the ground for your amp.
Did it blow the new fuses also?
I didnt check that actually, I am also in the process of putting a new box in so I just hooked up the power and ground wires to see if it was getting power when I noticed the fuse fault light again.

Run out and check the fuses and see if they are blown again.

If so check you ground.

Also make sure you disconect your battery before you hook up the power and ground wires.

And make sure that a strand or 2 of the postive or negitive wire going into the amp is not touching the other.

Is the fuse in the main power wire running to your trunk blown also?

Ya the fuses are blown again. The ground is in the same place its been for over a year now, right next to the component amp ground. Anything in particular I should check on the ground?

Take the ground off and sand/grind away any paint or rust.

Then bolt it back on there.

Also is the main power wire from your battery blown also?

The main power wire is not blown.

I just unhooked the battery and the lines from my amp, put in new fuses, hooked up the amp and then the battery and it was ok, but when I turned on the car and the headunit the fuses blew. I will go try sanding away some rust now. Last time i just kind of took off and re-set the ground.

Also make sure that there are no stray strands of wire between the + and - wires at the amp.

If there is they could be touching each other and blowing the fuses.

But that would blow them as soon as u connect the power and ground not when you turn the system on.
