Fuse blowing

recently got my system set up 2 sa 12s with a rockford fosgate 1500.

using 80 amp fuse under the hood, the fat tube ones, and ive blown 2 already, so ive turned the amp down.

does this mean i have to upgrade my fuse holder?

and also, is it 12 volts on your battery i cant go under? mines hitting like 13.2, should i turn the bass up more? (after fuse problem fixed)

Do you have like approx a 150 ANL fuse min. at the battery, or less??Think that that amp requires a min of 80amp for the amp with 4ga feed??What do you have?? Check your ground and make certain that it is solid as well:D..Thats a power hungry amp, and needs power, so feed it properly??IMO:D

Try upgrading the fuse holder. Using an anl fuse holder and fuse would be a whole lot better. If you have the punch verson and not the prime, you should probably use a 150 amp fuse.

Also as for the second part, I have no idea what youre asking. It shouldnt go under 12 volts while under a load if thats what youre asking.

I would have to disagree that amp pulls around 90 amps.
It is rated at 1,500 watts / 14 volt x 85% efficiency = 91 amps
... and so his slow blowing fuse that will take at least double the current drawn through it for at least 30 minutes should instantly be blowing under 12% more? Also, what is the duty cycle? Is that amp always putting out 1500 watts thus always drawing 91 amps? It's obvious that the answer to both is no. I don't mean to be insulting, but clearly your analysis is incorrect.

im using a 80 amp, glass tube fuse.

the gain is at about 3 now, ( was working fine at 5 but then fuse blew )

so should i keep the gain at 3 until i upgrade my fuse holder in a couple weeks?

also, what do i set the punch eq and hz to ?>

Don't use the punch eq. unplug that remote and don't use it. Next, set your lp filter (hz) to ~80. Set the subsonic(infrasonic) filter to ~30-35hz. If you know someone with a scope or a the new smd dd1 or whatever it is have them set your gain. Otherwise follow a gain setting tutorial with a dmm.

the punch eq cant be unplugged, if u look at the link and the back of the amp thers 3 settings.

so im guessing keep punch eq at 0 ( where it is now ), the freq hz button is at like 65ish, and the filter is on, with gain at about 3.

yea, i doutb the wire is good for that much, seeing is how i got it installed at a car audio place , who i dosnt think sells real good wire kits.

so maybe i should just use the 80A at gain 3 for now until i can do more upgrades,, kinda broke and broke myself buying the subs lol.
