fuse after distribution block?

Is it necessary to put fuses on the power wires after the distribution block ( 2 seperate fuses) if you have a fuse before the distribution block ( a foot from battery under the hood)?

Also is it o.k to use a 5 guage main power wire that divides into an 8 guage power wire and a 9 guage power wire? The wire kit is rated for 700 watts but I wil only have about 600.

Schosche makes them. It comes in the Wal-Mart kit that has everything for 2 amps. It accepts one 4 guage and two 8 guage. The actual wires that come with the kit are 5 guage and 9 guage. Its not fused.

Stuff like this may be why you never hear Scosche recommended......I cant imagine how their subs must sound.....

if you go from a larger gauge and split off into a smaller gauge without a fuse infront...
those thinner wires would burn right up if they get the chance.

see that's what i was worried about. i think i'll shell out the extra money for a fused one.

and whoever said scosche doesnt have a good rep, who cares? it's wire, and wire is wire (even though it is a wierd guage size, it should still work cuz i wont be using as much watts as the wire can handle anyway) u just wont see me using their subs or speakers. a RF kit almost exactly the same as the scosche one cost $85 more........$25>$110

i go from 1/0 to 4ga, the fuse holder would be bigger then the amt of 4ga im using.

You may haven't had a problem yet but if you ever short anything out, EVERYTHING connected to that dist. block will fry as well. The whole point of a fused dist block so that if anything did go wrong all your individual amps will be protected. Anytime you go down in gauge size you should have a fuse. Just a rule of thumb.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
