besides, the best ground is battery ground.
Still, 3 wires are in an extension chord, unless it was just a dual-prong one.

I took a look at a buddies system, he was having problems with the amp just shutting off. I looked at the ground for the amp first and just started rolling. He had a wood screw going straight through and un-stripped 4 gauge cable through painted metal. I was amazed it even turned on. At first I saw the nice looking 4 gauge and 15's and planet audio amp and said ok maybe it is a decent system. But when I seen all the shitty ghetto rigged connections in this car I just backed up laughed and said " I ain't touching that" Sorry if I am post dumping thought Id add my two cents.
OMFG REALLY!! you thought the most out of place piece was the wire ran all the way to the battery!! gtfo!!
my last 3 installs have had the negative cable running the whole way back to the battery...

power cords are generally 16-14 gauge, not good for even low power. Was it even fused?
