Frustration With Orion 2500d

He's running an Orion 2500D, class D mono......as long as they are wired together properly then he should be fine.
Are you sure that these subs are dual 4 ohm? If they are dual 2 then that could be the problem, maybe you are just running that amp to hard at 0.5 ohm.

Yeah, for other people, maybe not him? Could just be he's running it to hard or something. Just a suggestion to try and work through this problem.

Even if they were dual 2 ohms. After impedance rise it wouldn't be close to .5ohms. And the Horion can run that low.

I have seen people try to bridge theyre orions externally (two wires,put on the pos of one output and the neg to the other output) the amps fryed, the orions are bridged internally. Thats the only thing I can think of as to why hes burning up 2 amps.

people need to learn about equipment before they can even look at them. some nice equipment gets broken if the person doesn't kno shit about it.

like i said. there should be a sticky about mono amps that have 2 sets of "terminals" and are bridged internally so all the nubies will be a lil smarter.

the two sets of terminals are jus for ease of wiring two subs seperatly and the 2500d is not bridgeable.

Yea thats what some people think when they look at a 2500d with two sets of terminals, my dad tried to tell me to bridge my amp when i was hooking it up, i was no u cant do that, Orion jus made it easier to hook up two subs. Its always good to read the owners manual before installing because there is a quite a few things u have to do to hook up a 2500d.

the dual power and ground inputs were what got me. but @ 3 ohms the thing barely got my 13w7 moving. i rewired it to .75 and the amp doens't even output now.

Is the W7 a dual 3 ohm im not for sure, but man at .75 ohms no output thats crazy. Yea i also had questions about the dual power and ground, was a bit frustrated in the beginning but i saw through the smoke.

13w7 is dual 1.5ohm. it worked (very little output) at 3 ohms. but i traded it for a pair of rl-ps so the original owner is gonna see if he can send it in and have them check it out under warranty.

i contacted Orion today and they said they hired more techs to fix the uncountable amps to be repaired mines happen to be one of them. the guy said they were going to fix it, i was jus hoping they would send me the 06 model. maybe they will
