Frustration With Orion 2500d

not the rcas.

you have a voltage problem.

youre either getting too much or too little.

or the integrity of one of your connections is weak. check ALL of them, starting with the charging lead.

How come both amps just couldnt have taken a dump? If it were a brand people bash on here (Audiobahn, etc.), would the original poster be getting so much help? I doubt it. Your other amp thats hooked up to the same source is fine. You've triple checked you're connections (ground, loose strands). If its not the amp, the only thing would be the pre-outs. Get a back-up amp and hook it up to that signal. See if anything happends.

the subs it's pushing are two d4 re sx's wired down to 1 ohm..........i have a lanzar Vibe 1200D in there now mounted in the same spot, connected to the same connections and it is running fine......not a single problem with it.....i used this amp in this same spot for little over a month while my other orion was being replaced too and didnt have a single issue with it.......like i said.....the orions blowing jus doesnt seem to make sense

LPF is just above the 50 mark...so prolly around 55HZ....and HPF is just below 33Hz......i set this using the tutorial on the website using my box tuning of 32 Hz as the reference.
On a side note, I would re-adjust those settings. You're cutting off a large part of your frequency range.

yah i know......i jus did em real quick when i installed the amp and meant to go back to fine tune it but just never did lol.........u got a suggestion on a good range?.....my box is tuned to 32 Hz

Depends on your setup. How is your midbass? What do you have it set @? And what music do you listen to?

HPF - around 27hz

LPF - around 80hz

Start there and adjust until it blends well with your front stage.

About the original question. If you are 100% positive that everything was setup correctly, they could have just been bad amps. I know the odds of that are low, but it is possible. If you blow one more, I would 100% say it's the installation.

if all the wiring is good try running RCAs from another friends deck into ur amp....if its makeing veyr little and distorted bass then ya you probly did blow a little resistor. find someone good with amp repairs and get the lil focker replaced....but htis is a little mystery......

i'll try that.....i listen to rap mostly.....and midbass isnt very strong at all........i ahve some kicks but i havent put em in yet....waiting to get some new speakers first but dont really have the cash

and yeah.....i hope bad luck is all it was......i've done everything i could possibly think of to make sure if it WAS installation tho it won't happen again.....i been tryin to get in contact with shane about gettin it warrantied but we keep on missin each other........i jus feel like this makes me looks like a complete jackass tho lol........but oh well.......shit happens i guess

are your subs bridged to the amp?? thatll cause it to blow, maybe your subs wires touched. Petty strange indeed.
He's running an Orion 2500D, class D mono......as long as they are wired together properly then he should be fine.

Are you sure that these subs are dual 4 ohm? If they are dual 2 then that could be the problem, maybe you are just running that amp to hard at 0.5 ohm.
