i currently have a 2 channel lightning audio amp to possibly power a pair of sp5700 eclipse point source speakers. Should i just make use of this or take advantage of a good 4 channel and power a pair of eclipse se in the rear as well? does a 4 channel give me more options or should i just power the front with my amp and rear with my deck? i want the best possible overall sound quality i can accomplish. thanks

From a sound quality perspective; you would be perfectly fine to amplify the front speakers only (infact, most times I recommend it).

However, if you aren't really concerned with imaging and just want lound and clear speakers; you can 1) buy a 4-channel amplifier to power all 4 speakers [this would allow you to retain the ability to fade front to rear], or 2) run all 4 speakers off of the 2-channel amplifier [assuming the amplifier is 2ohm stable - however you would lose the ability to fade front to rear]
