Ok I think I understand what I need now to piece together the front stage I've been wanting for a few months.

Crossovers: Dayton XO2W-2K 2-Way Crossover 2,000 Hz

-RMS Power handling: 120W

-Nominal impedance: 8 ohms

-Frequency response: 38-2,000 Hz

Tweeters (Stock location): Morel MDT-29 1-1/8" Soft Dome Tweeter

-RMS Power handling: 80W

-Frequency response: 1,800-20,000 Hz

Amplifier: Pioneer GM-D7400M

-Continuous Power @ 2 Ohms = 400W

I need to know how to wire all this up. I want everything off the one amp. The woofers are 8ohm, wiring four in parallel yields a final load of 2ohms. The crossover point is right at the woofers' high point, and just above the tweeters' low point, so I considered some small midrange speakers in the a-pillars like the Tang Band 50-1426SA 2" Textile Dome Midrange (click for link) to fill the drop-off in that range. Is this a good idea? A wiring diagram or just an explanation would be great. Thanks in advance.

ummm...you want to run your front stage mono? off a class D amp? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

the selections you have made will work (two 8ohm mids parallel for a 4ohm total load and 8ohm tweets) with those crossovers, but i would seriously consider doing some more research on the basics of wiring before you get all of that. for the amount of money you want to spend you could get a nice pre-matched set.

Would rather put it all together myself. I don't know where to do this kind of research..links? I don't understand it at all. Don't know where in the line to wire in the crossover or amp. Don't know if the amp runs the tweeters and the woofers or just the woofers. I don't know where to find this kind of stuff out. This place is impossible to find much of anything but spam and BA build logs on, and I don't know elsewhere to look really. I just picked the mono amp because it's easiest for me to understand how to wire and what kind of final power I'll end up with at each location.

Ok just realized the idiocy of that idea. Long day. I'll try this again.

Same crossovers, woofers, tweeters, different amp. This time I get how to wire it.

Amp -> Crossover -> Woofer & Tweeter.

New amp.

RMS Power @ 4 ohm: 125W x 2

So the question now is, how do I wire the woofers to have a 4ohm load while the tweeters maintain an 8ohm load? I was thinking some kind of resistor?

Nevermind, going with different woofers. Found some I like a little better and they're already 4ohm.

-Power handling: 110 watts RMS

-Impedance: 4 ohms

-Frequency range: 46-3,000 Hz

These drivers also extend a little farther above my crossover point, but still might need the midrange fill.

that should work.

But you still have a problem.

You HAVE to make sure those xovers will be sending proper frequencies to themids and tweets.

This is generally the biggest issue with mix n match component set ups.

just out of curiosity, hjow much is this setup gonna cost ya.

Components shipped = $315

Finished install I'd estimate ~$350 to take into account wiring and misc. parts.

How do I make sure they're sending proper freqs.?

Already have the doors deadened btw.

Ok wait..****. When the amp sends 125w @ 4ohm to the crossover..then splits to the tweeter and woofer..will the woofer get half power and the tweeter get quarter power (8ohm tweeter)?
