front stage help to keep up with my 3 18's

Well my subaru is gone and I now am doing a build in a 99 caravan, Third row seat is gone and now ready for my 3 ssd 18's to go in. The most I had before was a Fi bl18" and my front stage kept up ok,rsd mids diamond hex tweets(old german) of a mm125.5 but I just dont think that they will keep up. I'm leaning toward a couple st350 and possibly some 8" mids running active of a mb4125, Any suggestions from some loud people would be greatly appiciated.

I would get a 2 channel for the tweets and a 4 channel to bridge for the mids. Well at least thats what I plan to do..

that may work, I do have an ed 9.2x that could run the mids and could keep the 125.2 to run the tweets.

Please do not do that typical pro audio crap with giant horn loaded tweeters and 8" mids that hardly have any midbass. If you're going to go active and are wiling to do a couple tweets and a couple 6.5" mids per side, there are so many options out there that will be plenty loud and actually sound good doing it.

What kind of crossover points do you have to work with if you do decide to go active? Just the ones in the 2k-4k range that'd be used to separate the mids/tweets.

I'm open to a couple component sets in the doors, granted I cant fiberglass worth a ****,but it is just an old caravan that will never be resold so i would just make some mdf plates and rings to accomidate a couple comp sets. This being said I in no way am an SQ guy, I just don't have an ear for it and most the music I listen to aint sq either(wu-tang, O.D.B,kmk,pshycopathic records). I could even run passive and drop the 9.2x to 2 ohms per channel and see 150rms to each of the 4 crossovers.

Passives might be the way to go if you don't feel like messing with crossover points and level-matching the mids tweets. What kind of budget are you working with?

Budget would be around 500 or so for the front stage, I have an ed 9.2x and a mm125.2 so I'm good on power already. I am a little scared about the going active thing I have never worked with any crossover points,I do understand them but I have heard some horror stories of people having a rough time setting up. If I would run into trouble I could always make an hour drive over to oldschool4me's house for some help, he is running active in his civic and it sounds amazing.

Then go ahead and give it a shot if you want. I tried it 2 years ago and I'll never go back to buying passive units...you're just able to get more for your money when buying raw drivers.

Ya I was amazed at how much better oldschool's active setup sounded than my passive setup.

What kind specifically? If he went with some ID horns he wouldn't have much money leftover for mids...unless he got some of the older CD1's or something.

I'm not sure how low those can cross, as I'm not very familiar with them, but you might be able to mate a solid 8"er with it.

I might have to see if tristan still has his for sale,It is a minivan so I have a lot of room to work with. Never heard a good set of horns though,are they hard to get a good crossover point with?
