Well on about a 100$ budget for comps.

Finally was ready to order the 6.5 PG RSDs for 87 bucks.

I have a 75x4 rms amp to drive everything. The rear fill/bass will be a pair of either active 6x9 3 way in rear or pair 8" subs free air, and front stage only...)

Found some kickers on sale...

Saving money for 65$, KS52s (5 1/4 - easier to mount in my car, no modding, the 6.5 will take some cutting, fabricating rings etc.) plus save 22$

Or spending a little jumping to their RS65.2 which is a great deal from what i've seen elsewhere (137).

My question on a budget for moderate midbass, and decent highs. I'm running pioneer comps in my other car and they work for me...

Stick wtih PG, or would one of these make sense...also would 75 rms be enough for the RS?

My other concern about my amp is power. the PG/RS have rel low sens at 86 and 88. with my amp should i stick with something like tsa pioneers or sony gtx comps which run 90 or 91?

my amp....already sitting in garage from previous car...

thanks in advance

I don't have any experience with the RSD's, but I have owned and used a set of Kicker KS65 6.5" Coax (For sale - $60 shipped) and a set of Kicker RS65.2 6.5" Comps. Honestly, the KS's were good, decent amount of midbass, tweeter was a tad bit harsh, but the RS's have a lot more midbass and the tweeters are really smooth and accurate. They were definitely worth the extra money for me.

Now have it down to 3.

My amp is either a mrp f250 alpine 40w rms or tha275 blaupunkt (75rmsx2) currently on sub but i could run the sub with the alpine as well as my rear 5 1/4s. I'm more interested in front stage than rear.....

With neither of these being powerhouse amps....pick my comps....

PG 6.5 RSD

Kicker KS65.2

Pioneer TSD1720c

CDT Audio CL-S60A/TW-25

87-110$ speakers.

i say get the Pioneers for sure. from what i have read, you will be happy.

i have 2 options for you. 1) bridge the mrp f250 so each side gets 100 watts. 2) Sell the mrp f250 and get a bigger 2 channel like a 2.150, zx450.2 or any 2 channel that does ~150 watts.

then seal and deaden your doors.

Another option is still sell your amps and pick up nates zx650.4 for cheap. Then you can run the speakers active or run the 8s in the back off the amp

nvm. i just read it was sold. you can still pick up a powerful 4 channel and run you system perfectly

if you are keeping the alpine. bridge it so it each side gets 100w
Ya I thought about that....

But the setup will be comps up front, currently have TSA pioneer comps, that I'm going to swap to other car and upgrade this car to TSD.

Rear is 5 1/4. I like the fill I get with these, they are in the side panels, (convertible car).

Sub is single 10" in the ski pass through the center.

I previously was running the alpine to the fronts and bridged to the sub, no rear fill.

I really prefer the sound now with the rear fill...

So if I bridge the alpine, i still only have a 2 channel for the rear.

I guess i'll try it both ways and see what's better, alpine comps/rear fill; blaupunkt sub VS. alpine rear fill and sub (i like the sub for nice full sound, not thumping bass) and blaupunkt comps.

Now just to decide Kicker KS at 70 and probably be a little disappointed or put up the 115 for the pioneers...

Joe

ok going pioneers...

only problem is HU has no power. This is stock headunit (BMW business CD) actually pretty clean signal (balanced differential or whatever to a SVEN-4 adapter to the amps), plus the stock look is a must, and steering wheel controls.

now just have to find best price on them...
