So I am thinking of getting some HSK165's and I am wondering how much power I should put to them. I would like to have some headroom just cause and in case i deside to upgrade to something like the MLK's in the future. I say this because when I tested this out at the dealer the MLK's sound like crap and the only thing I can think of is they were only getting 100wrms each I think where the HSK's were getting the same and sounded good.
So my initial plan was to get a PDX100.4 to run my current set up (4 Memphis PR 6.5" Coaxials) and then when I get the HSK's buy a PDX150.2 for the rear fill and bridge the PDX100.4 to 200 x 2wrms for the HSK's and then I should have enough head room for pretty much whatever I would want to upgrade to in the future...
Or should I just get a PDX150.4 and be done with it? I have run my Memphis M-Class 6x9's on 150wrms and I liked that... so not sure I really need anymore power. The only problem here is if I do decide to bridge that and get another amp for the rear then thats 300wrms x 2 to the front which might been too much... I don't know.
Any thoughts?
