front baffles

hey guys, i have a question. I've got this box.. its like 3.2 at 37 hertz, but on the cutout on the front baffle there is a gouge at the bottom. Is there anything i can do to fix it? the rest of the baffle is fine, its just that one part is messed up.

leave it alone and place another baffle on top of it, glue it down, and recarpet.

when you glue, use like 1 inch drywall screws, wood glue the whole bare wood to bare wood, cut yourself a new hole where the existing hole was, and you have a stronger box now than you did before.

i guess i should have said that is double baffled already.... could i just remove the front baffle, and remake it? would that hurt anything structurally since the other 5 holes would be going through 2 baffes and the bottom one only going through one hole? or maybe i could just take off both front baffles and put 2 new ones on

its too cold here.. and it gets dark by the time i get home from school,my electrical system isnt finished yet, my dads really picky about his garage. I dont know if i can even take the baffles off because the box is internally fiberglass resined. i may take new pics if my dad has his digi cam and show you what im talking about
