UNLEASH THE POWER !
I am rebuilding a 1968 Camaro SS 396 and want a nice sound system in it. I would like to have 2 12's or 2 15's in the trunk. The car is pretty valuable and I dont want something that will be permanent like fiberglassed in. I will probably put the head unit in the glove box so I can leave the original radio in the dash - it has a very nice AM radio from the factory - no FM ....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif But it is the original radio and needs to stay in it. Anyone have one of the 1st Gen Camaro's or have any ideas you can give me on a good box ?

What about something glassed and covered with OEM carpet? If I had something like that, I'd want it to be as integrated with the car as possible; I wouldn't want to see a seperate sub enclosure.

Yeah, I agree with you. I want it to look like "part of the car" but yet not be permanent.... Possible to do ? I even thought of fiberglassing a box (not to the car itself) and painting it hugger orange to match the cars paint. I could do something to cover the edges to blend it in to the body, like carpet. etc. I did not know if anyone might have one of the 1st Gen Camaro's that may have put some subs in the trunk.

I built a A glassed box custom fitted behind the rear seat and between the wheel wells in a 69' I believe a couple of years ago. Used trunk liner material to cover it. Looked like it was factory. And it was removable as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They have the same trunk as well ! Do you have any pics ?

I fiberglass box doesnt have to be permanent. When you make the mold for the box, you place tape down in the car so it doesnt adhere to the body itslelf and you can pull it out later to finish it.

BTW, nice choice of color. Always liked the Hugger Orange. I have Sunset Orange Metallic on my Firehawk.

Post some pics of the car, i love old camaros.

How can I get them up here ? I dont know much about doing that, other than sending them in an email. By the way - do you know they are coming bacl out with the Camaro's again ? Starting in 2007 they will have the 1967 body style.

The car was ordered Hugger Orange, they did not offer that color unless you special ordered it - not until 1969 for the Camaro's. I am going back with the original color - You dont see a lot of orange cars around.
