From RE Audio SE 15 to Re Audio XXX18

The xxx calls for 9ft for ported. People say go bigger. I have a feeling my rear seats will be coming out soon. Lol. Could do 12ft ported. Car is tiny. 91 Chevy sprint turbo hatchback. Why don't I just do a wall infinite baffle?

What about DD 9500? What's the difference between Re audio XXX and DD 9500? I read on internet different opinions.. I would like to know which one is better for sq, more versatile and more loud.

they are totally opposite in the spectrum. the DDis a is efficient in the high-end of the sub-woofer bandwidth. they are naturally aggressive punchy and "tight" sounding. while they don't sound bad, they aren't a SQ woofer. they dont like sealed boxes ported or 6th order bandpass..

the XXx on the other hand is a high excursion driver. it has a softer spiders high moving mass and lower motor strength. i wouldn't port it unless your using it for HT. the efficiency is really good from about 50hz down. they are a smotth boomy laid back sounding driver that excels sealed. while they don't sound bad its high inductance and high mass tends to still have no better than average distortion figures.

if you really want a highend driver that's loud as **** and sounds great i really like the sundown audio Z series. its abit low on the efficiency side but they enclosure they are optimized to be put into is ideal for having good output low distortion and wide bandwidth. they have great cooling and shorting rings to stabilize the inductance variance and enough surface area on the coil to keep power compression very low at rated power.

You're a moron.

DD is a overbuilt SQ driver. One of the best. You will see DD competing and winning in both SQ and SPL with the same series of woofers.

Not many can say that.

Anyone that says they are not has no real experience with them, they have to much experience with a forum or some blog.

ive ran the 9515s as far back as the c series.. kick rocks. the have **** poor linearly on there older suspension and they had very little linear throw. its not a bad sounding driver but it isn't a great sounding driver.

No it hasnt. They have made the coil longer and they use a bit better suspension. I've used dd and I love design products.

There is a reason they used to make the 9100s and the now make the ts. They are better lower distortion drivers that are more musical. Period.

The xxx has a very high inductance...
