frigerator used to keep amps cool?

someone i knew on another forum did this or was going to do this. he only signs on AIM every once and a while, so i havent got to ask him about it yet, but i remember him saying he was going to use a mini fridge (not the whole thing, but like take it apart or something) and use it to keep the cargo of his explorer cool (walled off, so it was just the small area in the back sealed off) to keep all his amps running cool.

has anyone ever thought of this or if it would work or anything? im just curious.

I would think that since mini fridges are pretty **** current hungry hed lose any advantage he would have gained with a more severe voltage drop, unless he was just doing it for a bit, then letting his system charge back up, like for burps or something..

just seems a little ilogical, unless we are missing something here

I feel it would be outrageously unnecessary, a waste of money to make a fridge run off a car's power, and a pain in the ***. Just put some fans back there if the amps are getting that hot.

People use condensers on Computers all the time for overclocking. However, it usually involves alot of gel on the electrical components because of condensation that is common with hot components in a refrigerated environment.

thats an option too. i might just throw fans back there, becuase like said above the fridge would kill my voltage, as does my a/c when i have it on. fans will prally be the best option.

if the fridge was running off the cars electrical itll **** too much juice to be effective. no to mention the concept of condesation as that board heats up.
