Fresh system Build review please

Planning a whole new setup for a 96 jetta I just picked up (not a ghetto car system build, car also has fresh paint, three piece wheels, air suspension ,etc)

I usually listen to dubstep or rap commonly.

Trunk space is SOMEWHAT of an issue because of the 5 gallon air suspension tank, and also all the other components underneath the false floor.

As for budget I'd like to be around the $1500 mark or less. Any money I can save for equal or better components would definitely be appreciated.

-Sony DSX Head unit (I always use these, love the ipod tune-tray)

-12" FI BL Fully Loaded

-Alpine type R Component Speakers

-Alpine type R Coaxial Speakers

-Install Bay 0/1 gauge wiring

-Hifonics Brutus 1700.1 Sub amp

-Hifonics ZRX 600.4 Speaker amp

-Custom Built box (recommendations on who to have do this are welcome)

-Dynamat Full car kit

-Optima Red top battery

Well it looks like you got everything figured out. The Fi Bl is gonna laugh at the 1700 brutus. The install bay wire is from ebay i think right? Its really cheap wire prolly like 4 gauge wire instead of 0. Go with Knu if you want cheap decent wire. $2 a foot on ebay i think. Optima batteries are overpriced. You can get better bang for your buck with other brands. Duracell agms from sams club or Sears Diehard Platinums. Nothing wrong with alpine comp up front. And for your box. Prorabbit Buck or Boomsday.

I realize FI underates their rms on the the website, but I dont wanna push it. Or are you saying Hifonics doesnt put out true wattage? Any other recommendations for the sub amp?

Well with no alt and 1 red top up front i think you have you wont see 1700 from the Hifonics anyway even if you wired it to 1 ohm after rise and voltage drop. It will deff work tho and hifonics are cheap and I would say only would put out rated on a really good electrical . But possible.

I would go with a Sundown Sa 12. Little cheaper than the FI. Maybe a used amp off someone with good feedback on here. Something still in the price range of the hifonics. Just better quality. Less rms maybe. But more realistic. Plus can maybe save you money and you can throw it into some component speakers up front.

Is the sa 12 as good as the fi? I want something thatll beat out 2 alpine type rs because thats what I used to have.

Speakers and sub are fine. Amps are junk. Same as the optima and wire you can get a decent system for your cash like a xfl or sa 12. $200 vfl 100.1 $400 box $200. Amp kit. $65 speakers $225 deadening all doors and trunk $200 and a good agm $200- $250 that's $1500 right there. And a better system
