Frequency Question

I know alot of people here tune thier boxes to the low 30's. I was wondering in what frequency is the kind of bass I hear when cars drive pass me and it makes it sound like it's coming from near but they are down the block. Would that box be tuned low or high? I want to have a show car that attracts people from all the way from the other side of the show. What kind of bas travels far, Around 30 or in the 40's? I don't know if that was a clear question but thanks for any feedback!
