Free Laptop of my choice

Ok so i gratuated last week and i got all my money from my grad party, and my grandma offered to get me a laptop of my choice. Shes going to buy 2 of them because she also needs a laptop. I dont know to much and what good brands are, but dont like macs. what are your suggestions? I want one with a high detailed screen, big.

price range is probbaly under 1,500. screen size, ehhh, it can be whatever, come to think of it , it really doesnt matter cause im not going to be gaming on it or anything. so just preformance

even though u say you dont like macs...you should get one anyways, that way you can still have windows, plus if you happen to decide you want to take up a new hobby (ie audio or video editing) you have the mac's operating system that would handle that better

plus their customer service is actually good...unlike dell's

My parents bought my bro a Toshiba from BB. for 1 grand its a great unit. 17" screen, 1.8 dual core (i think 1.8), big hard drive, lots of ram. I'd go with dell or toshiba.

I recommend you go to a site for laptops. They helped me out quite a bit. Just fill out the questions, and post a new thread about it in the "What notebook should I buy?" sub-section.

Very knowledgeable guys over there, and they don't screw around like everyone does on ca.com when you ask a question.

If you can wait, and definitely want an awesome gaming / programming laptop, check into the ASUS C90. It's probably what I will be buying.
