Alright - don't laugh - I'm just thinking out loud here but after hearing several installs in others' cars with 2 x 12" subs shaking the car, for my musical tastes it's WAY too much. I listen to rock and classical, techno a bit, and have a 97 Accord.
What would happen if I got an 8" free-air sub (does it even exist?) and mounted it on the rear deck, firing into the car? I'm thinking about 80w each to my fronts and rears for 320w and then maybe 200w for the sub.
What the heck would this sound like?
Also - a more general question - are there some low end/bass freqs lost if you seal the sub in the trunk? IOW, do the comps cover enough of the spectrum of the low end that the subs do not?
