I'm starting a build in mt 08 civic si coupe and am wondering if my setup so far is okay as I started out trying to match everything but am now as far from that as possible.

h/u= kenwood 8120 coming next week

fronts= rainbow 265.25NG's coming next week hopefully

rears= none for now wich seems to recommended on here, but will eventually add some rears for the occasional rear passenger, some rear fill in general and to take advantage of the kenwoods built in 5.1 processing. maybe just buy some now and run them off of the deck and use the amps 2 rear channels for the sub?

sub= going to try some cheap 8inch IB sub in stock rear deck location but could use some more recommendations here, looking for something small.

amp= leaning towards alpine pdx.4 150

dampening= second skin pro damp for doors with overkill foam

wiring= none yet could use recommendation here as well.

No one company makes the best of everything. Don't worry a bit about getting different parts of the system from different companies. It's been forever since I've had more than one part of the setup from a single company.

For wire look at Knukonceptz.

What's your budget for the sub(s)? And how small are you looking? Are you planning to run the subs off the rear channels of the Alpine amp or off their own amp?

I was thinking of running the sub off of the rear channels of the alpine until I get rear speakers which would be about 300rms to the sub.

For the sub I'd like to run a nice 8 inch sub in the stock location in the rear panel which means to be safe I should probably run an IB sub as my first choice was a jl 8 inch w7 with a 500/1 amp but was scared I would ruin it running it open air.

For the sub anywhere from 100 to 500, if I can't buy it right away I would wait to buy something that is of quality. I saw a review for 8 inch ib subs here and am wondering which one will fit now and which is the best.

and thank you for the wiring help. for that I was planning on buying a two amp kit since I might add anothe amp later, then guess for some amount of speaker wire(any guess you have here for a small car?), and some wire to do the battery ground part of the BIG 3 unless theres enough extra in those amp kits then I could just use that I guess.

thx again for your help so far
