ive been having voltage problems. my battery is completely dead now i think. every time i tried starting my car it would lag and then all the gages would flicker. I have a guy that is saying i need a capacitor and a new battery but i didnt think a capacitor would solve my problem. any ideas?

Capacitors do not help anything.....

Get a new batt, do the big 3 if you haven't already, and maybe a bigger alt.....
