Ford Explorers and SPL?

Pretty much any one...
DB Drag has bass race, MECA has drive by, USACI has street beat...
Would my equipment as stated influence which organization I could be most competitive in? And I'd like to hear personal opinions on each organization/class.

i will tell you why that particular type of explorer is very loud.

2 reasons.

the trunk is as wide as it is deep. it has the deepest and widest trunk than most misd size suv's in it's category. 40 inches by 40 inches i believe.

second reason is that it is all mostly plastic panels in the trunk of that car, which prevents sound absorption.

and the completelly flat rear hatch helps as well.

i had a 2004 grand cherokee, it could do low 153's with 2 10's and low 154's with 3 12's. But it was never as loud as an explorer would be with the same equipment.

I've run like 20-30 different setups in my x and they all get loud but none got low. (Loudest 146-7 @ 47 Hz). Anybody else dealing with this? I had a friend down the street had an Expedition and I would sometime put my gear in his truck, and the lowness of the bass was unbelievable. They sounded completely different. My next truck is gonna be an Expedition.
Im having that problem right now. 1 18" LMS Ultra in a 4ft^3 tuned to 25hz and Im peaking at 140.5 T/L @ 46hz. I gots about 500watts going to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Not to get off topic... but what is with the Pyramid banner in your sig? Maybe something i dont know? lol.
I plan on competing this year with all pyramid products.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

This man knows nothing about being loud.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah they're loud, here's a 154 @ the head rest. Probably does another 2-3 dB's in the kick.

156 legal on dash

Not mine though

Forget about dual alts, on an Explorer. There's no room. You CAN modify the mounting bracket, and then there are larger alt casings in the Ford line. DC Power can make one with more output in a larger casing. The one I just ordered has 150 amp @ idle, 200 amps at just off idle, and 230 max amp output. That's the original casing. They can get you more output, only in the larger casing.
