How did you go about getting the design? (not talking about lame tribal tattoos) Did you just find one on the internet and print it out and take it to the place? Is there a selection? Or did you get one "custom"?
I ask because I want a tattoo, and I'm sort of know what I want, but not exactly sure and I'm wondering if the tattoo artist will work with me to get what I want.

research the shop, talk with the artist. Make sure he answers all of your questions. If he's a prick about you asking him stuff, find another shop. Last one I got came to me in a dream. I told my artist what I wanted and he drew it up a couple of times and he one i liked went on my arm. you could pick some shit off the wall too, but custom is always ftw.
