For those who have tattoos

How did you go about getting the design? (not talking about lame tribal tattoos) Did you just find one on the internet and print it out and take it to the place? Is there a selection? Or did you get one "custom"?

I ask because I want a tattoo, and I'm sort of know what I want, but not exactly sure and I'm wondering if the tattoo artist will work with me to get what I want.

most tattoo artists can draw something up for you, just tell them what you want, and bring in a few pics and they can get you set up with a nice design

your in detroit.... look at some portfolios of some of the best artist at local shops. pick the artist that fits your style. when you find an artist that you really appreciate his work set up a consoltation. then he/she could can come up with a design specifically for you.

TribalJames on here is a tattoo artist (he may own the shop, I'm not sure), located up in Port Huron, I'm sure he could help you out or give you some information on the process.

Its best to go in with a idea, maybe couple examples of what you would like but let the artist draw somthin up thats the best bet. Let them do ther own design/twist on it.
