i have my batts grounded to the rear. running 4k daily

Are you running 4 amps? Is that why you want to do 4 runs of 1/0? I'd think 1/0 could easily carry 200 amps continuously. 3 runs at 13.8 V would carry about 8200 watts.

Two runs of each should be plenty.

So the consensus seems to be:

Ground back to the underhood battery.

Don't ground the rear bank to a ground spot in the trunk.
